Story[]

Early life[]

Adam was the son of the previous emperor of Holograd, and after his father's passing, he succeeded the throne. After seeing all the countries of the world wage war upon one another, Adam desired to bring order to the world by uniting the kingdoms under a single rule of Holograd. During this time, he would take in a young girl from the Kingdom of Savalon named Maia, after her father was killed by the kingdom's Council of Elders.

After coming into contact with the mysterious Edna, Adam would learn of the secret potential of the Crystals of Musa and desired to use their power to unite the world. Adam desired to use the Wind Crystal's power to craft a massive Flying Fortress, a warship to unite the world with its terrifying power. With Edna's aid, he would receive the power of the Hellblade Asterisk, while also coming into possession of the Phantom and Bastion Asterisks - giving the former the Maia; now under the name of Marla, and giving the latter to his father's most trusted ally, Sir Lonsdale.

Now having the knowledge and gaining the power the Asterisks, Adam and Edna would recruit countless others from Holograd and the other kingdoms to aid in the theft of Musa's crystals. With their plans set into motion, members of the Holograd, Savalon, Wiswald, and Rimedhal countries would attack the Kingdom of Musa and steal the Crystals for their own purposes. However, with the Wind Crystal still being in the possession of Princess Gloria of Musa, Edna and Adam's plans were not yet complete.

Gameplay[]

Adam is notably fought twice in the main story, with the first fight the end of the prologue, which the party is intended to lose, and another at the end of chapter 4, which must be won.

As a Hellblade, Adam uses powerful attacks that sacrifice his own HP and take advantage of that loss. He uses the seven elemental “Blades” attacks, dealing lasting damage to targets, and his versions consume only 7% of his HP rather than 25%, and he heals 2.5% of his HP each turn due to the Deal with the Devil specialty. Adam can also take advantage of the damage sacrificed and inflicted upon him with Minus Strike, which in later fights and phases can break the damage cap with Surpassing Power. Adam also inflicts Dread with Dread Blade to debilitate foes, and can heal himself with the exclusive Heavencloud Blade ability.

Adam is also one of the few Asterisk holders to make use of abilities above level 12, using Ultima Sword and Deathstorm for massive damage, though with the latter putting him at critical health should the party survive.

In the Hall of Tribulation, Adam also uses the exclusive Opal Blades ability, a non-elemental variant of the “Blades” abilities that heals him instead of damaging him.
