Hailing from Mag Mell, Adelle left her home to pursue her sister Edna, who stole the Asterisks to orchestrate a scheme to render the Crystals powerless and revive the Night’s Nexus. Posing as a mercenary, Adelle encounters Elvis while visiting Wiswald and, learning that he seeks the Asterisks too, convinces him to hire her.

By the time the party reaches Savalon, the shoes Elvis bought her are falling apart but rather than get a new pair, she has them repaired due to the significance of them marking the start of her journey with Elvis. As the party journeys on, she becomes suspicious when they hear rumours of a woman giving people the asterisks.

While in Rimedhal, Adelle is forced to reveal her true form as a fairy to save Martha from being executed, diving down into the Jaws of Judgement and transforming in order to fly Martha to safety. After reaching Holograd and helping defeat Adam, Adelle finally confronts Edna and learns of her intentions. She once again assumes her fairy form and flies the party to safety after the wind crystal's power surges out of control and Adam’s flying fortress behinds to collapse.

After the heroes learn of a future where they fight Edna and Gloria must sacrifice herself to seal the Night’s Nexus away, they search for another option, prompting Adelle to decide they need the knowledge of her home to accomplish that. She beseeches the gatekeeper of Mag Mell to open the portal to the village, and the party is granted passage once Lady Esmeralda agrees to listen to her. In order to seal away the Night's Nexus, In the second ending, Lady Esmeralda decides to seal the fairies away along with it by freezing time. She places Adelle in Elvis's care, but when the party is just about to make their escape, she decides to remain behind as the barrier severs her from Elvis as he begs for her to come with them.

In the true ending route, thanks to Seth's restoration of the Bravebearer Asterisk, it is revealed that the Night's Nexus can only be fully destroyed by destroying Elvis's book, so the Fairy Queen and former hero of light Aileen grants them passage on her boat to the Isle of Nothingness, where the Night's Nexus is defeated once and for all.

Adelle is a young woman with short white hair that is up in a messy ponytail. Her eyes are bright blue and her skin is pale. Her default Freelancer outfit consists of a blue crop top with a scarf pinned to it along with white capris and sandals. She also has a dagger sheath strapped to her lower back. As with the other asterisk users, Adelle's outfit changes based on her job. In the demo, Adelle's main job was Monk.

As a fairy, her ears are pointed and she has blue wings covered in stardust. In this form she wears her hair loose, with two strands of hair resembling antennae. Her outfit is a bodysuit adorned with white fur and a light aquamarine color scheme. Adelle is slightly shorter in her fairy form than she is in her human form.

Although she and others refer to her and her sister as women in game dialogue, Adelle mentions in one of the game Party Chats that technically there are no such things as male or female fairies.

Personality[]

Adelle's personality on first meeting is lighthearted, making jokes with Elvis, who she calls "old man." This does continue for much of the prologue, easily making jokes and conversation with the other Heroes. There was no hesitation shown when Gloria needed help, and Adelle showed herself to be level-headed, advising the other heroes to save their conversations until after they had all escaped. Adelle loves to learn new things and try new foods, but she will shriek at things she finds disgusting. Seth tells Adelle she gets really angry when she gets hungry, to which Adelle replies that everyone at home says the same thing. She is curious and fierce and puts others' needs before her own.

Once Adelle reveals her true identity to the party, her personality and goals become much clearer. Adelle rebels against her fellow fairies by standing up for the good parts of humanity while still acknowledging the darker side of things. Despite being a jokester, she does not wear her heart on her sleeve, going to great lengths to conceal her more personal feelings from the rest of the party. Adelle takes the burden of her sister Edna's evils upon herself and does everything in her power to defend the world and her new friends.

Gameplay[]

Different from other entries in the series, all of the characters base stats are the same, Adelle starts with an accessory that gives her 200 extra HP over other characters, and she also starts out at level 5 and at job level 3 as a Freelancer, but these are only minor advantages relevant in the early game, and outside of that, her stats are fully dependent on her current job and level, as well as whatever Booster Buns have been used on her. Her special move theme is activated by attaining the fire crystal. Motifs of her special theme can be heard in Mag Mell, land of the fairies.
