Etymology[]

The Aero series of spells originate from the Final Fantasy series of games. The spells were first introduced in Final Fantasy III as White Magic spells that specialized in dealing wind-elemental damage to enemies, and dealt extra damage to flying enemies. This origin was kept in the first two Bravely mainline titles, where the spells were the only type of offensive White Magic spells until players gained access to Holy.

Aero is a Greek prefix relating to air and flight. Common usages in modern times include the words "aeroplane" and "aerospace."

The "-ga" suffix denotes it is the level three form of the base Aero spell.
