In-game description.

The Bastion is a job from Bravely Default II. Serving as the final "tank" job available to players, the Bastion specializes in abilities that allow the user to defend their allies, while providing several physical attacks that deal damage to enemies and raising the defences of the user as well as light-imbued physical attacks. It serves as the game's replacement for the recurring Templar job, with the Bastion learning several abilities often associated with it.

The Asterisk holder for the Bastion is Maddock Lonsdale, a loyal knight in service to Adam Holograd.

Default Guard 1 When Defaulting, damage received is further reduced at a cost of 15 MP. The MP cost is incurred even if the damage is nullified by immunity or absorbed.

Rampart 3 Command 30% HP Erect a barrier that will protect multiple targets from a single physical attack. Cannot be combined with Vallation.
Vallation 4 Command 25% HP Erect a barrier that will protect multiple targets from a single magical attack. Cannot be combined with Rampart.
Light of Justice 5 Command 47 MP Perform a powerful light-imbued physical attack on a target.
Wall 6 Command 38 MP Increase the user's physical and magical defence by 25% for three turns. Stats cannot be increased beyond 200% of their base value.
Blindsider 7 Command 44 MP Perform a physical attack that's extremely effective on blinded targets.
Auto Guard 8 Passive 1 Slot The user's turn will come around more slowly, but they will Default automatically even when it is not their turn.
Critical Flow 9 Passive 1 Slot Performing a critical hit may cause BP to increase by one.
Double Default 10 Command 35% HP For three turns, Defaulting will increase BP by two instead of one.
Sanctuary 11 Command 1 BP Shut up shop so that allied and enemy HP, MP and BP cannot be changed until the user's next turn. (However, the usage costs for any abilities used in the meantime will still be deducted.)
BP Limit Up 12 Passive 1 Slot Increase BP limit by one, allowing up to four BP to be accumulated.
Holy Light 13 Command 90 MP Perform an extremely powerful light-imbued physical attack on a target.
Shield Lore 14 Passive 1 Slot Shield aptitude is increased to S.
Corporal Punishment 15 Command 1 BP Perform a powerful physical attack on a target that will deal more damage the higher the user's physical defence.


Special[]

The Bastion's Special is Invincible, which both performs a powerful light-imbued magical attack on all enemies and erects a barrier that protects all allies from a single physical or magical attack, with an additional effect of increasing the party's Speed by 20% for a short duration of time. In order to perform the move, players must have the character as a Bastion use the Default command 13 times in battles.
