Elemental Supplement from BDII

Elemental Supplement in Bravely Default II

Elemental Supplement is a Divination spell in Bravely Default II, available at job level 6 for the Oracle job. It imbues a target's regular attacks (performed with the 'Attack' command) and attacking abilities with a selected element for two turns. It costs 46 MP to use.

Etymology[]

A supplement if something that provides aid on top of something already present, which this ability intends to do by strategically adding a useful element to a character's attacks.

The ability to infuse attacks with an element without providing any other bonuses is present in the Final Fantasy series, originating in Final Fantasy VII with the Elemental Materia, which imbues a weapon with an element when a magic or summon Materia with that element is linked to it in one of the weapon's linked Materia slots. This became a formal ability with the Red Mage En-Spell abilities in Final Fantasy XI
