Firaja from Bravely Default.
Firaja (ファイジャ, Faija?, lit. Fija) is a recurring fire-elemental spell in the Bravely series. When it appears, it is the fourth and highest tier of the fire-elemental spells available to players in each installment.
Unlike its previous Black Magic predecessors, it can only be learned by unique classes associated with the undead, such as the Vampire and the Yokai jobs. The ability is commonly associated with the Sin Beast Belphegor, who originally appeared in Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light.
Appearances[]
Bravely Default[]
Firaja is a genome ability, part of the Vampirism command, learned from the Nemeses Belphegor and Beelzebub by getting hit with its use of it. It deals a tremendous amount of fire damage to all targets. It costs 99 MP to use. Like its fellow -ja spells, and unlike genome abilities besides them, it deals magical damage rather than physical damage and does not show up in the list of genome abilities in D's Journal.
Bravely Second: End Layer[]
Firaja is a level 4 Diabolism spell. It deals a tremendous amount of fire damage to all targets and cannot be reflected. It costs 99 MP to use. It can only be used after defeating the Sin Beast Belphegor, found at the obelisk near Caldisla, who uses the spell in battle.
Bravely Default: Praying Brage[]
Firaja appeared as a Demon Summon ability for the Yokai job, being learned at job level 4. It dealt fire-elemental magic damage on a target or all targets. Firaja had a cost of 72 MP to cast and it could not be reflected.
Etymology[]
Firaja originates from the Final Fantasy series of games, being introduced in Final Fantasy Tactics as a tremendously powerful fire-elemental Black Magic spell. Though it is not part of Black Magic in the Bravely series, it maintains its connection to the three Black Magic Fire spells, with the "-ja" suffix denoting that it is the level four form of the base Fire spell.
