Graviga in Bravely Default
Graviga (グラビガ, Gurabiga?) is level 6 Time Magic spell in the Bravely Default, serving as an upgraded version of Gravity. It has a 50% chance to deal damage equal to three-fourths of the target's maximum HP, though it fails on certain enemies such as bosses. It costs 25 MP to use. It can be bought on Grandship starting in chapter 5 for 6400 pg.
Lord DeRosso uses the spell in all battles with him except the last, pairing it to powerful effect with his Bone Crush ability, though his version of Graviga targets the entire party.
Etymology[]
Graviga is a recurring spell in the Final Fantasy series, being introduced as part of Time Magic in Final Fantasy V, as it is in the first two Bravely games. Its original function was to reduce the enemy's HP to 1/8 of its maximum HP, while the current effect of reducing HP by 3/4 of the maximum was introduced in Final Fantasy VI. The Final Fantasy series continued to vary the effect slightly between installments, with the main difference usually being whether the reduction in HP was relative to current or maximum HP.
