Etymology[]
Gravity is a recurring spell in the Final Fantasy series, originally known in English as Demi due to its effect of reducing HP by half. It was originally part of Time Magic in Final Fantasy V, as it is in the first two Bravely games, though that version halved current HP, and the effect of reducing HP by 1/2 the maximum was introduced in Final Fantasy VI. While it has sometimes been Black Magic due to being an offensive spell, it has still been a Time Magic spell quite frequently.
