Heal in Bravely Default II.
Heal (ヒール, Hīru?) is a recurring spell in the Bravely series. Though its exact effect varies, it is consistently a restorative spell whose effect isn’t based on any healing stat, and is an alternative to the Cure spell that is offered by a different magic job. Depending on the version, its more powerful variants may have different names and improvements upon the base spell.
Appearances[]
Bravely Second: End Layer[]
Heal is a level 1 Holy Magic spell. It restores 30% of a single target’s HP in or out of battle, and can be group-cast to restore up to 12% to each character. It costs 5 MP to use. It can be bought in Gathelatio, Eternia, and Chompshire for 200 pg. Nikolai knows this spell as a party member during the prologue; the scroll cannot be purchased while he is in the party as the game considers it already owned.
Bravely Default II[]
Heal is a Red Magic spell, learned at job level 3 for the Red Mage. It restores 1000 HP to a single target and can be used in or out of battle. It costs 14 MP to use. With the White Mage specialty Holistic Medicine, it can be cast on the whole party with no loss in potency.
Additionally, when Roddy joins the party as a companion during chapter 2, he will use Heal during his turn should any character be at low health.

Etymology[]
The Heal series of spells originate from the Final Fantasy series of games. The spells were first introduced in the original Final Fantasy as White Magic spells usable only by the White Mage and White Wizard jobs. Unlike the single-targeted Cure spells, the Heal spells specialized in healing multiple party members at the same time, which is the opposite of the difference between the two in Bravely Default II, where Cure spells can be group-cast while Heal spells can only be targeted on a single character.
