The Hellblade is a job from Bravely Default II. It is unlocked during the later portions of the game, being a fusion of the Spell Fencer job and the recurring Dark Knight job. The job's Diabolism skillset focuses on sacrificing HP, MP, and BP to strike with elemental imbued swords that have their effects extend beyond the initial casting, allowing the user to inflict extra damage over time to enemies.
The Asterisk holder for the Hellblade job is Adam Holograd.
Appearance[]
As a Hellblade, all party members will don caped metallic armor similar in appearance to Adam Holograd's garments.
Job overview[]
Hellblades specialise in attacks against multiple targets, and are often willing to sacrifice themselves in order to maxmise the damage done.
In-game description.
Being a job that is focused on dealing heavy damage to their enemies, the Hellblade has a natural S proficiency in physical and magical attacks. The job also has an S rank in sword proficiency, making it their ideal weapon of choice, which can have their attack power further increased by equipping the Swordmaster's 2 Hands Are Better Than 1 passive to the user.
In addition, Hellblades also sport above average defenses and HP pools. The job's major weakness is their low agility stat, requiring equipment and buffing spells to increase their action speed.
Due to the job's focus on sacrificing HP, players must be careful when performing multiple attacks with Braving in battle, as they can easily put the user near to death without proper healing, an especially dangerous situation due to the Deal with the Devil specialty dropping the user’s BP to -3 when they are KOd. However, that specialty also regenerates some HP and MP each turn, somewhat offsetting the sacrifices made if played with enough caution.
Additionally, players can easily take advantage of the Hellblade's sacrificing of HP with the Minus Strike ability, which allows the user to deal damage to enemies based on the amount of HP the user is missing to the max value. If combined with this job’s Surpassing Power passive and the Monk's Maximise HP passive, players can deal powerful attacks that exceed the base damage cap easily. In addition, it has access to powerful moves such as Ultima Sword, which can deal heavy damage to all enemies based on the amount of MP expended.
When paired with a Monk as their sub job, the Hellblade can increase their damage output with the job's increased damage stats, and also by providing enemies with fire resistance debuffs to increase the potency of their Ruby Blades ability.

Darkness heed my call!
The Hellblade's Special is Ruinga Sword (ルインガソード, Ruinga Sōdo?), an attack that strikes all enemies with a powerful non-elemental magic attack, and has the extra effect of increasing the party's physical attack power by 15% for a short duration of time. In order to perform the move, players must have the character as a Hellblade use their Diabolism abilities 13 times in battles.

Etymology[]
Like the Conjurer job from the original Bravely Default, the Hellblade is a reference to the jobs of Final Fantasy III, in this case the original Dark Knight job, which is known as the Magic Swordsman/Demonic Swordsman (まけんし, Makenshi?) in the original Japanese releases. In the 3D remake of the game, the job specialized in sacrificing portions of their max HP pool to deal incredible damage to their foes. This element is carried over to Bravely Default II, where the Hellblade sacrifices their HP to deal heavy damage to their foes.
The gemstone themed naming of their elemental Diabolism attack abilities may refer to the Medieval European Christian based material and organism hierarchy chart known as the Great Chain of Being, where minerals are of "earthly value" and at the nadir of the hierarchy, and were once believed to behold devils due to their close vicinity and hence affinity to Hell.
Trivia[]
In spite of its description, the ability Deathstorm consists of physical attacks, not magical ones. Additionally, Deathstorm cannot be used while Braving.
