Bravely Default Wiki

Salve-Makers can combine items to create entirely new ones, and expertly exploit the effects of existing items as well.

In-game description

The Salve-Maker is a job in Bravely Default II. The job is primarily focused on supporting the party through the use of items, being able to widen the effect of items, make new ones, and perform other useful functions such as scanning weaknesses, inflicting charm, providing BP, and reviving allies.

The Salve-Maker Asterisk holder is Glenn Booth, the Mayer of Enderno. His Asterisk is one of only two not obtained at a set point in the story, but it can be obtained starting from the beginning of chapter 3. To obtain it, the heroes must take on a side quest from Glenn wherein they fight a dream version of him, and he gives over the Asterisk right after.

Appearance[]

Job Overview[]

The Salve-Maker is a versatile supportive job with surprisingly high magical stats, with an A in magical attack and an S in both restorative power and magical defence, though they are physically frail and also have poor MP that balances the rest of their magical prowess. Through its ability to make healing items affect the entire party, and its ability to make extraordinarily strong healing items from existing ones, it can function as a substitute for magic-based healing jobs so long as the user has a good stock of items, and their Revive ability and Multimix Elixir bolster their healing potential as well. Their mastery of items also allows them to use attack items well, especially if paired with the Thief's Attack Item Amp, and their own compounds are capable of inflicting various statuses, allowing them to fulfill that function better than any other job. Their abilities to provide BP to allies and remove it from enemies round out a very strong supportive skillset.
