Savalon, also known as An Oasis in a Desolate Desert, is a location in Bravely Default II. Before the desctuction of Musa, it was an strong ally with Savalon.

Bravely Default II[]
According to dialogue with Dromed, Savalon was once a lush land, but due to war and deforestation led by King Tauras, it became the barren desert seen in present day.
During the prologue, Sir Sloan hears from a merchant that the kingdom of Savalon is currently flooded. He tells Gloria of this, and firmly believes that it's a sign that the Water Crystal had been taken there. After defeating Dag and Selene, Gloria and the rest of the party travel through the Vale of Sighs to reach Savalon. However, they are ambushed by Horten, and then Adam, and Sir Sloan dies in battle.
Once Gloria and the others reach Savalon, they confirm Sloan's suspicions, seeing that the capital is halfway flooded.
In the town, they come across a crowd in front of Bernard's gaming hall, complaining that he could be the one causing the flooding in the city. Bernard asks Orpheus to disperse the crowd, which he does successfully. Gloria then confronts Orpheus, but she doesn't get much information out of him.
The group then decides to meet with King Orion at the royal palace, but they discover from Prince Castor and Dromed that he's currently missing, along with his other son, Prince Pollux. At the palace, they also meet elders Bernard and Cygnus, who deny having anything to do with the Water Crystal's disappearance.
Upon further investigation, with the help of Prince Castor, Seth and the party deduce that Bernard actually does have the Water Crystal. In the process, they fight Orpheus at the Sandswept Ruins and Anihal in the Underground Reservoir. Anihal tells Seth the whereabouts of the Crystal, and lends them a key to access in a room behind a bookshelf, where it's hidden. Meanwhile, Dromed meets with Bernard, telling him that Gloria knows that he's hidden the crystal.
Prince Castor tells the party that he'll call Bernard to the palace and that they should go ahead without him. Once there, Gloria finds the Water Crystal, but Bernard catches them. Gloria receives the blessing of the Water Crystal anyway, and they defeat Bernard. After the battle, Anihal asks Bernard to stop what he's doing, but he ignores her and throws her across the room.
Suddenly, Prince Castor then supposedly comes to Bernard's rescue, with him boasting that the prince had been helping him all along.
Despite this, Prince Castor kills Bernard and explains that he's been using Gloria to obtain the Water Crystal for himself, in order to save his kingdom. He then sends the party, along with Anihal, to the dungeons. In there, they meet Prince Pollux, who says that his brother locked him away too because he opposed the idea of stealing the Crystal. He also explains that Castor is in possession of the Berserker Asterisk, which he obtained from a mysterious woman.
Using her bird, Anihal frees the six of them. Pollux and Anihal stay behind, while Seth and the party go after Castor at the palace. They engage in battle, and the party defeats him. However, guards come to Castor's aid, but Elvis' book shows them a memory just in time. The flashback shows Castor murdering his father, King Orion, because he wouldn't attack Musa for the crystal. Dromed and Bernard both witness this event, and Bernard decides to help Castor, in exchange for making him an Elder.
Castor tries to deny the flashback, but Dromed admits the truth, saying he was covering it up in order to help the kingdom. When confronted by the guards, Castor falls over the balcony and drowns in the water below. Gloria is then able to finally retrieve the Water Crystal.
After these events, Dromed locks himself up inside the dungeons for retribution for his crimes. With his father and older brother dead, Pollux becomes the new leader of Savalon, and assures Gloria that he'll be alright. Before they leave, Anihal tells the party that a Crystal may be in Wiswald, which is where they head next.
Meanwhile, Marla, who was disguised as Cygnus at the time, reports to Adam and Edna that Castor is dead, and the Water Crystal is now in the clutches of Gloria.
