The Templar is a job in Bravely Default. It is unlocked by defeating Braev Lee atop Eternian Central Command.

The Templar is a physical class that has excellent defense and offense. It specializes in swords and armor, less so with shields and helms. The Templar's skillset is based around critical hits, defensive techniques, and the Brave/Default system. They also have several Light-elemental support and battle abilities.

Appearance[]

Templars don plates of silver armor and a cape, with cross imagery, winged motifs, golden accents, and a crown-like headpiece.

Abilities[]

The Templar's Specialty is BP Limit Up. Its Job command is Holy Arts.

Ability Job Level Cost Description
Heart Strike 1 1 BP Unleash an attack for a guaranteed critical hit that deals two times the damage of a conventional attack.
Abate Light 2 1 slot Reduce damage taken light-elemental attacks. Note that you will not receive further reduction if this ability is used along with items with similar effects. Light nullification effects take precedence over reduction effects.
P.Defense 20% Up 3 2 slots Raise Physical Defense by 20%.
Giant Slayer 4 16 MP Deal 1.5 times the damage of a conventional attack to one opponent with more HP than you.
Magic Critical 5 1 slot Has a 15% chance of a critical hit when using magic. A critical hit will double the amount of damage or recovery.
Default Guard 6 1 slot Reduce the amount of damage received during Default by 75%.
Rampart 7 2 BP Form a shield around all allies that prevents one physical attack.
Item Critical 8 1 slot Has a 15% chance of a critical hit when using an item. A critical hit will double the amount of damage or recovery.
Radiant Blast 9 40 MP Unleash a light-based physical attack on one target that ignores Default's damage reduction effect and deals 1.5 times the damage of a conventional attack.
Critical Amp 10 2 slots The damage dealt from critical hits will be 2.5 times normal. Note that this effect applies to magic and item critical hits as well.
BP Limit Up 11 1 slot Raise the BP limit by one, up to a maximum of 4.
Desperation 12 Attack by adding the value of your physical defense to your physical attack. However, your physical defense will be reduced to minimum for that turn.
*The lower limit for P.Def is 75%.
Armor Lore 13 1 slot Raise aptitude for armor to S.
Heaven's Gate 14 3 BP Make a number of random light elemental attacks equal to BP.

Note: Item Critical's critical rate is calculated per character. Meaning if an item is used on a group, the critical effect of the item will vary between characters. Example: Using Bomb Arm on a group of monsters will have a chance to trigger Item Critical on only one (or two) monster out of three.
